If we see the traditional notion of representation in painting we will see that the focus was always in the centre which means that there was single viewpoint representation of the painting or linear perspective. This makes the viewer concentrate on the centre and forgets to see what is happening in the background thus, missing the overall details of the painting. Unlike the traditional notion of the paintings, Baroque and Picasso inspired by Einstein and development of science adopted multiple viewpoint theory challenging the single perspective and to do so they used geometrical figures that can be seen from different angles and can be interpreted differently as well.
